- Stir together flour and salt
- Cut in shortening using a pastry blender. cut in so the mixture looks like corn meal.
- Add water - sprinkling over crumb mixture a little at a time. Stir together with a fork.
- Form into a ball using your hands.
- Roll out into circles each 1/8th inch thick.
- Place 2 Tbsp of pie filling on half of each piece of dough
- Use a little water on the edge of the dough to help it stick together.
- Fold each circle in half. Press edges together with a fork and make a couple of slits on top.
- Place on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake until light golden brown.
- Drizzle with icing

Turnovers (Single Pie Crust)
1 cup flour 1/2 tsp salt 1/3 cup shortening 2/3 Tbsp ice water 2 Tbsp Pie Filling (your choice)
